Hotel des Invalides - Napoleon died in 1821 in exile. But it was not until seven years later that the British allowed his remains to be returned to Paris for burial here.

Saint Chapelle - erected by King Louis IX (Saint Louis) in 1248 to hold the Jesus' Crown of Thorns relic. Its Gothic spire rises 246 feet into the sky.
