Hotel des Invalides - view of the Invalides Dome. Napoleon Bonaparte died in 1821, 7 years later he was entombed inside this dome.

INVALIDES DOME VIEW 2

Views of the Eiffel Tower from the Hotel des Invalides. The tower is named after it's builder Gustave Eiffel. It was built in the years 1887-1889. It is 984 feet high, weighs 7,000 tons, and is held together by 2 ½ million rivets.

EIFFEL TOWER VIEW 1

Views of the Eiffel Tower as it's approached from the Champ de Mars garden. At the far end seen through the base of the tower is the Palais de Challiot across the Seine River.

EIFFEL TOWER VIEW 2

Views of the Eiffel Tower from the Pont d'Lena looking towards the Champ de Mars. The J-645 in lights indicates that there where 645 days left until the year 2000.

EIFFEL TOWER VIEW 3

Arc de Triomphe - It was built by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1806-1836 to commemorate the Great French Army. It is the largest triumphal arch ever built, 164 feet high and 148 feet wide.

Arc de Triomphe - It sits isolated in the center of a traffic circle called Place de l'Etoile (star) named so because of the 12 major boulevards (including the Champs Elysees) that radiate from here.
